You can somehow tell how celebrities are in their relationships based on how they perform. For athletes, a big part of your performance and dedication would have to do with your other half. This is why it is not too surprising to see successful athletes end up with another successful athlete. While these pairs are absolutely lovely, they are models to learn from as well. Here are some of them.

Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy

When it comes to performance, Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy might be one of the top athlete couples there are around. While both play different sports, their excellence in their respective fields is very distinguished.

Wozniacki used to hold the number 1 spot on the tennis circuit. McIlroy on the other hand also reached the number 1 spot in the world golf rankings. Both athletes are still active on the field nowadays and it looks like they got each other’s backs when it comes to competing.

Nomar Garciaparra and Mia Hamm

“Make each day your masterpiece.” –  John Wooden

Garciaparra had a great run after striking gold with his career with the Boston Red Sox. Just after winning Rookie of the Year in 1997, he finished in the top 10 in MVP voting in each of the upcoming three seasons. When he had to wrap things up, he finished his career with a .313 hitter as he hit 229 home runs and made it to six All-Star teams.

Hamm, on the other hand, was named as the greatest female athlete in history by ESPN. Hamm is definitely the most popular female soccer player of all time and was named FIFA World Player in 2001 and 2002. She has scored 158 goals for the US Women’s National Team, wherein she played in two World Cups and earned two Olympic Golds. The pair married in 2003.

Aaron Ross and Sanya Richards-Ross

The Rosses are also royalty amongst sports couples. One happens to be a two-time Super Bowl winning cornerback while another is a gold medal winning Olympian in Track and field. This couple truly shows how athlete couples should be.

In February 2017, the couple announced that they are expecting a baby. The couple revealed that while a big part of their lives felt like a fairy tale, this was their crowning glory. While waiting for their baby to come, Sanya slayed a maternity shoot that had everyone gushing.

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf

There are a lot of royal couples, but when it comes to tennis, you could only imagine how royal Agassi and Graff are. Agassi and Graf are no doubt, the first couple of tennis. Agassi has won 8 majors in his career and is the first man to win majors on three different surfaces and still is the only man to have won all four majors, the ATP Tour World, and an Olympic gold.

Agassi is king, but he does not outdo Graf either. She won 22 majors during her run as well as an Olympic gold. The pair got married in 2001 and have two children.

Andrew Luck and Nicole Pechanec

This power couple both attended Stanford to play sports and if that was not enough, Andrew Luck would be selected as the number 1 overall draft pick later on. With his skill and power, he would lead the Indianapolis Colts to the playoffs.

His girlfriend is a star in her own right as well. Nicole Pechanec was captain of the Cardinal Squad. She was awarded team MVP and has two All-America honors.

Whether they are playing on the field or being somebody’s romantic interest, these couples truly give a different meaning to put some power in a relationship. While they have relationships and status in life that a lot of people would envy, these are amplified by the thought that their partners are successful as well.
