As the summer is at arm’s length, iced coffee drinks may look like a perfect energizer but be aware, according to health experts there are hidden calories and sugar in these drinks. Anyone who thinks that the cold beverage is low on calories and sugar, then he/she needs to think again. Almost every flavored iced coffee is low in coffee contents and high in sugar contents.
Amanda Mexiner, a fitness blogger revealed in the Instagram post about these delicious but unhealthy iced coffee drinks. She also told ways to replace the injurious elements with the healthy ones without changing the taste of the coffee.
Mexiner-26 has almost 633,000 followers on the Instagram and in a series of Instagram post, she revealed that a grande Mocha Frappuccino – a coffee made by Starbucks has almost 61g sugar, more than 350 calories, and no coffee. To back up her revelation, she shared a screenshot of the conversation she once had with the barista of Starbucks in which the employee wrote that normally a cup of coffee contains 1/10 of the actual coffee and only little amount of coffee drops are poured into the cup.
Which one would you pick? I’m team lettuce warp sushi for my goals (Well, plus I often save my carbs for fruit & my rice cake snacks haha.) . Love this post by @collegenutritionist. Either side could be good depending on your goals or what you ate that day! I love her tip below: . “Another good trick is to eat 1/2 of the lettuce wrapped roll and 1/2 of the rice roll – or if you need more food, choose BOTH of these 🙌🏼🤗” . . . #collegestudent #collegeproblems #graduation #eatthisnotthat #choosethisnotthat #healthyswap #healthyswaps #saladbowl #salade #salada #worklunch #collegenutritionist #weightlosshelp #weightlosscommunity #weightlossjourney #weightlosssuccess #weightlosssupport
Amanda showed that sushi rolls with rice have almost 430 calories and more than 70g of carbs while the same sushi rolls with lettuce have only 220 calories and 23g carbs.
Frappuccino’s – a trademark brand of Starbucks, offers plenty of milk, syrup, and sugar. And then to simplify the situation, the health blogger said that a normal bottle of Coca-Cola contains 9g less sugar than grande Frapp. The official website of Starbucks stated that a cream topping saves 100 calories.
As an alternate, Mexiner provider her followers with another iced coffee having just 2g of sugar and 25 calories. She also warned the followers to order an unsweetened coffee as each sweetener pump adds 20 calories. The blogger said that swapping a Starbucks coffee with the unsweetened coffee prepared with coconut milk can save a ton of calories and sugar.
However, if anyone is looking to lose weight, then he/she can use black coffee instead of flavored one, she added. Amanda posts healthy eating tips weekly and in those posts, she tells her followers how to customize their food items without compromising the taste.
I may be silly 🤪 but I love to make smart food choices 🙌 . Love this post @ilanamuhlsteinrd who shows that wise food choices can add up. . While sometimes candy is fun, 9 times out of 10 nature’s candy (fruits) is my favorite way to satisfy my sweet tooth. . . . #cleaneating #healthyeating #nutrition #cleaneats #mealprep #foodprep #fitfood #protein #weightloss #mealplan #paleo #healthychoices #mealprepsunday #healthyfood #mealprepping #macros #mealprepmonday #flexibledieting #iifym #instahealth #getfit #gains #meals #healthyliving #healthylifestyle
In this post, the fitness blogger demonstrated the difference between smart diet and passive diet. A cup of pineapple, a half cup of blueberries and 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds contain just 140 calories while only 15 jelly beans have the same amount of calories.
After this analysis, it is worth saying that if anyone is looking for a decadent drink, then he/she should stay away from Frappuccinos. It is important that everyone knows how much sugar their food is having.
Recently, she posted a series of images in which a calorie comparison was shown between two similar food items. In one picture, she demonstrated that there are 90 calories in one spoon of almond butter and there are almost double calories in more generous helping. In another image, six olives were shown which amounted almost 70 calories while twelve olives were weighed 140.
Which would you rather have? 😸 While it’s totally great to treat yourself, being aware of your choices and what that means for the rest of your day is important! ❤️ Below is a breakdown of each: . 590 calories of: A medium strawberry shake from a fast food chain . 590 calories of: A giant salad that includes: 4 cups spinach 2 cups cauliflower 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes 1/2 orange bell pepper 2 eggs 3oz kimchi 2 Beets 1/2 avocado + 2 tbsp balsamic + 1 cup whole strawberries . . . . . . #paleo #cleaneating #glutenfree #paleodiet #healthyeating #whole30 #primal #healthyfood #cleaneats #fitfood #mealprepsunday #nutrition #lowcarb #lchf #healthychoices #jerf #paleolifestyle #organic #bbg #mealprep #dairyfree #keto #grainfree #weightloss #realfood #instahealth #getfit #paleofood #healthyliving
One drink contains 590 calories while a healthy meal has just 590 calories.
While giving the caption to one of her eating tips post, Amanda wrote that eating healthy is the preliminary and most important step in feeling healthy. Foods high in calories like nuts, complex carbs, and olive oil can help one in achieving his/her fitness goal, the blogger continued.
While sharing the conversation she once had with one of her followers, she said that a follower asked her whether almond butter good or bad for the weight loss and in response she asked questioner about measuring it out and control around the food item. And if the answer is no in either of the cases then keep away from the supplement, she told the fan.
Which side would you pick? 🤗 . ☕️ While bullet proof coffee is a fine choice to have in your nutrition routine, you definitely can’t count that concoction as calorie free. Many of the recipes online & in coffee shops call for 2 tbsp grass-fed butter & 1 tbsp coconut oil. Now, that’s a lot of extra calories! . 🥞 Many bullet proof fans use this combo as a way to skip breakfast & you can see why that works out since it’s the same amount of calories. In fact if you were switching from a highly-processed, high-calorie breakfast to bulletproof coffee you would lose weight since you end up eating less calories. . 🍳 However if you prefer eating real food for breakfast instead of a drink that right side would be a much better option for you! You could also scale back on the avocado & add 1/2 tbsp MCT oil to your coffee to get some of the added benefits of this healthy fat without too many added calories! . Left side: Coffee blended with 1 tbsp MCT Oil 2 tbsp grass-fed butter . Right side: 1 piece Ezekiel toast 2 medium boiled eggs 1/2 yellow pepper 1/2 red pepper 1/4 avocado 2 1/2 cups spinach Black coffee with stevia . There are 345 calories in a cup of coffee while a healthy breakfast also has the same amount of calories.
The health and fitness blogger also said that there is no need to stick to low-calorie food items like fruits and veggies. Amanda was able to build a massive fan following of around 700k by doing a simple thing – she told people smart and measurable food tweaks using her Instagram posts. Amanda is also a big campaigner for meal prepping and never shies sharing photos from her fridge to motivate her followers.
