WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

When it comes to English literature, his name is probably the most widely known because of his amazing works that changed the world of literature. William Shakespeare is considered to be one of the world’s great writers, most people think he was the best of his time, but there are also people who believe that he was the best of all time. Even if he lived 400 years ago, his works will remain timeless. His plays are still on Broadway, West End, and all over the world. His plays still get different movie adaptations. A lot of people study his life, his works, and his form of writing.

Some of his notable works that are known all over the world are Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, The Merchant of Venice, and The Winter’s Tale. There was, however, a controversy regarding his identity. There are some historians who believed that William Shakespeare wasn’t really the one who wrote the plays and sonnets, it was said to be Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford. At that time, noblemen aren’t actually supposed to write such “nonsense” so the Earl asked Shakespeare to be his front man. It was even made into a film entitled, Anonymous.

LEONARDO DA VINCI

This next one not just known for his works, but also his extraordinary way of thinking. A normal human being uses either his left or right side of the brain, that is why it is believed that normal people only use a tiny part of the brain. Da Vinci, however, seems to have used certain parts of his brain that not everybody uses. The proof is that he’s not just a painter, sculptor, architect, and inventor, but he is also a mathematician and an engineer. His works inspired thousands of people up to this date. He is also known to be the Renaissance Man.

He is famous for his works such as Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, The Virgin of the Rocks, and The Vitruvian Man. One of his scientific writings and discoveries are written in a book in the mirrored writing for. It was considered to be one of the most expensive books ever written since it was bought for more than $30 million by Bill Gates.

CLEOPATRA

She is known to be the Last Queen of Egypt. Cleopatra was actually only seventeen years when she took the throne. She is considered to be Egypt’s most powerful leaders. More than 2000 years after her death, she was still famous for being an exceptional ruler. She ruled the city of Alexandria, which was bridged between the east and west. However, she was also known for her exploits, just like her scandalous affair with Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony. She, unfortunately, kills herself by an asp bite after they were defeated in Rome.

When talking about the Ancient Greek philosophy, Aristotle is one of the names that you would immediately think of. Aristotle was actually a student of Plato, another Greek philosopher. So almost everything that you are learning today at schools mostly came from Aristotle.

It is very important that we take a moment to get to know and appreciate these people because they actually made a difference in this world that we are living in today. They are indeed an inspiration to the entire nation in several ways.
