The New York restaurant, Serendipity 3 has done it again. This a thousand dollar worth Golden Opulence Sundae has managed to gain a place in the Guinness Book of World Records’ most expensive dessert in 2007. This luxurious ice cream sundae is covered in 23-carat gold leaf. According to the restaurant, they approximately sell one per month, but if you wish and if you can afford to try this gold goodness, you must give them a call and order two days in advance, simply because the ingredients must be flown from different countries.

The sundae consists of three scoops of rich Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, covered in 23k edible gold leaf with Madagascar vanilla in it. It is also drizzled with one of the most expensive chocolate syrup in the world, which is the melted Amedei Porcelana. This Golden Opulence Sundae also has some candied fruits exclusively from Paris, and some gold covered almond chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries. This sundae also comes in a $300 Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet, which of course you can take home.

GOLDEN PHOENIX CUPCAKE – $1,000

If there is a thousand dollar worth sundae, there is also a cupcake worth the same. The Golden Phoenix cupcake, which can only be found in Dubai. It is covered with 23k edible gold sheets with some Italian chocolate and some vanilla beans with strawberries dipped in gold. It is considered to be the world’s most expensive cupcake ever made. It is actually baked with the use of the premium Ugandan vanilla beans and of course one of the most expensive chocolates in the world, the Amedei Porcelana, which is also used in the Golden Opulence sundae.

According to the creator of this cupcake, Shafeena Yusuf Ali, it is, in fact, her greatest dream to be able to make a unique and pricey dessert, and she did. She spent exactly five weeks to develop this luxurious cupcake. It is sold in Bloomsbury, Dubai mall, and fifty percent of the sales of this cupcake, goes to the World Food Programme, to help children who are in need especially during calamities and other times of need.

DECADENCE D’OR CUPCAKE – $750

Another luxurious cupcake on this list is the Palazzo’s Decadence D’Or cupcake. This is actually cheaper than the previous cupcake, but it is still worth a dime for a dessert. It is created by Chef Olivier Dubreuil, he made this cupcake from the Palmira Single Estate Chocolate derived from the fragile and extremely rare Porcelana Criollo bean from Venezuela. It is also topped with the most labor-intensive agricultural crop in the world, the Tahitian Gold Vanilla caviar. It also contains some Louis XIII de Remy Martin Cognac, which takes 100 years to make.

STRAWBERRIES ARNAUD – $ 9.85 million

If you happen to be preparing to propose to your significant other and you’re extremely wealthy, why not drop by New Orleans, and spend almost ten million dollars for a dessert?

Arnaud’s in New Orleans thought it would be great to offer a package deal with its customers. A marriage proposal dessert which is worth more than your car and house combined. If you’re rich then you wouldn’t have a problem spending too much for a proposal dessert right? It will be totally worth it. This dessert consist of Louisiana’s finest strawberries, with some Ceylon cinnamon as well as the famous Tahitian vanilla, that is topped with some ruby port sauce. This dessert comes with Arnaud’s signature French 75 cocktail, which is actually made with Grand Marnier 100, Cristal Champagne and Hennessy Paradis Cognac with some edible 24k gold leaf flakes.

However, the thing that makes this dessert worth multi-millions is that the MS Rau Antiques’ 10.06-karat royal blue diamond engagement ring.
