Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it is that time the season for you to go all mushy and lovey-dovey! So, what comes to your mind, whenever you think of valentine’s week? Chocolates, flowers and romantic movies, of course!

So, this is a perfect time to start binge-watching your favorite romantic movies. Suppose you have watched them already, time to rewatch them. Sometimes just watching something with your beau right at home, can be the perfect date night!

Titanic

We are guessing you have watched this movie, well if you haven’t watched it, there can’t be a better time to watch it! This classic romantic-disaster film not only swept the audience off their feet but also won eleven Oscars for itself.

The film was perfect with its cast, music, and plot too.  While the film may be a tear-jerker, especially the second half when the ship sinks (spoiler alert!) But the first half is all about how a perfect romantic film can be. Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet) are the epitome of the perfect couple. As Rose would say, the film certainly took us “To the stars.”

Love Actually

This movie is an anthology and incorporates nine different intertwining stories all share a common ground of romance. All the stories are unique. It has a prime minister who loves a staff member to a devastated writer who finds out that his wife is having an affair and more.

All the stories are as intriguing as they come. This includes numerous twists and turn, and with that, an incredible cast. It is certainly a go-to movie for all incurable romantics. The characters help you stay invested in the movie, and you will find them pretty relatable too. We don’t know what’s not to like!

You’ve Got Mail

With a cast like that, nothing can go wrong, can they? Well, there you have guessed our fondness for the lead cast, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, who are equal parts charming and cute in this film. Kathleen (Meg Ryan) is a struggling boutique owner, while Joe (Tom Hanks)  is the new giant bookstore owner in the block who can wipe out Katleen’s fledgling business.

They do not take to each other at first glance, though, and start squabbling as soon as they see each other, but they are friends online. Yeah, they do not know their real selves. Do opposites attract? Well, they certainly do if both of them are willing to go the extra mile and let their guards down to connect romantically. We can’t think of a more charming film or a cuter duo. It certainly makes us believe in the power of love.

The Proposal

Well, if you would like to make your date night fun, this is the perfect film. An executive editor-in-chief at a New York publishing house and her assistant decided to hatch a plot of getting married as Sandra Bullock’s visa expired soon. She would be sent packing to Canada. The duo spends some time in Alaska to celebrate Ryan Reynold’s granny’s birthday and convince the world that they are a couple.

But what follows is part hilarious, part romantic, and part journey of self-discovery as the duo discover that they are desperately in love with each other. Both Sandra and Ryan do an amazing job of playing the couple-who-can-never-fall-in-love to the can’t-lose-the-sight-of-each-other type of couple. We also love the adorable other characters in the film, Betty White being our favorites!

Notting Hill

Notting Hill is the quintessential romantic film set in the western town of Notting Hill in London. Here a bookstore owner William Thacker (Hugh Grant), falls in love with a famous American movie star, Anna Scott (Julia Roberts). Can a simple English man and a Hollywood actress overcome all their obstacles and forge a relationship?

For that, you will have to see this bittersweet romantic comedy that helps us find the answer to the question, does love conquer all? Ah! the simple joys of watching the fascinating Julia and the goofy Hugh Grant weave movie magic like only they can! Who can forget the famous words of Julia, “I’m just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.”

These are a few of our favorite films for date night! What’s yours?
