OSCAR fever is here! And, this year there are movies that are not just good, but in fact great! With the list of OSCAR nominated films out, it seems like there were a lot of great movies made last year. The stories were great, the performance of all the actors was great and hence, the movies turned out to be great as well. But out of all these nominations, there are a few films that are just marvellous! And it doesn’t matter which of these films wins an award, because for all viewers, these films are already winners!
JOKER
For years, he has fascinated us with his painted face and devilish laugh in the Batman movies! But, for the first time there is a film dedicated precisely for the villain – Joker! And what a movie it is! Joaquin Phoenix and his exceptionally great acting skills made the movie a masterpiece. With 11 nominations in the OSCARs, the film is already making history! Once you have watched the film, the character of Arthur Fleck will forever be engraved in your mind.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD
An ode to Hollywood, this film by Quentin Tarantino is a must watch, especially of you have been a fan of Hollywood films. Apart from the script, the actors in the film make it brilliant. With Leonardo Di Caprio and Brad Pitt play the characters of Western Stars from 1969. The movie is just classic and you should make it a point to watch it at least once before the Awards night.

MARRIAGE STORY
An emotionally dense and very sensitive movie, Marriage Story is about a couple who try really hard to save their marriage and make it work. It is really emotional to see a relation fail and a family break. What makes it more interesting are the characters who have been portrayed perfectly by both, Johansson and Driver.

THE IRISHMAN
All these years and still Robert De Niro makes the perfect Mafia kin. Based on the book I Heard You Paint by Charles Brandt, the movie shows De Niro portraying the character of a mafia hitman Frank Sheeran who works for the Bufalino family. He is also the reason behind the disappearance of a character Jimmy Hoffa, played by Al Pacino.
Nominations: Best Picture, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor (twice), Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Tom Hanks is one of the most legendary actors in Hollywood and if he gets nominated for his film after 20 years, the movie is surely a must watch. The movie is about a journalist who is given the assignment of interviewing a man named Mr. Rogers. One meeting with Mr. Rogers and the reporter is forced to reconcile with his past.
Nominations: Best Actor and Best Director.
