Ever since Trump took over the presidency in 2016, it has always been a controversy as to how he exactly he will handle the relation between the United States and the other countries, especially North Korea. A couple of months ago during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics in South Korea, First Daughter Ivanka Trump made an appearance and watch some of the games representing the United States on behalf of her father.
At the same time, the North Korean leader’s sister, Kim Yo-Jong was also there but the two weren’t photographed together or even saw each other. North Korea has been known for allegedly developing nuclear weapons for years now and the US never really liked that idea.
A historical event happened, however, not too long ago when South Korea and North Korean leaders made a truce and are now working together, this then led to North Korea meeting up at the Singapore Summit last Tuesday with the United States, which happens to be a historical moment as well. People from different nations seem to have mixed reactions when it comes to this historical meeting, but one thing is for sure, there is a deal that has been officially made that could either be the best or the worst thing to ever happen in history.
I want to thank Chairman Kim for taking the first bold step toward a bright new future for his people. Our unprecedented meeting – the first between an American President and a leader of North Korea – proves that real change is possible! pic.twitter.com/yF3iwD23YQ

Trump Meets Kim
The young dictator just met one of the most powerful leaders in the world and it is definitely a historical event that will be recorded in history books. Donald Trump met with Kim Jong Un for the very first time and they were actually only joined by their respective translators, however, later during the day, both nations advisers joined it to be able to discuss larger issues.
When it comes to first impressions, the US president definitely showered Kim with so many compliments such as referring to him as “very smart” as well as having a “great personality”, however in an interview with Voice of America afterwards, the president mentioned that the North Korean leader actually seem to love his people and he loves his country, this is despite his reputation with all the violation of human-rights accusations over the past couple of years, and that fact that he is a dictator doesn’t really scream “nice” at all.
Trump then defended his answer by saying that Kim is doing whatever he has seen done over the years and the sanctions were simply necessary. Trump even mentioned how he thinks that Kim actually liked him which is why he likes him as well, the US president also said that he definitely understands why the North Korean leader had to be rough since it is for the own benefit of his people and his country.
Signed Agreement For North Korea and the United States of America
The meeting between these two powerful leaders has a purpose, and one of them is to sign an agreement that would benefit both nations. Trump even referred to this as comprehensive as well as incredibly important. Despite not exactly going on to detail or clearing up whether what is going to happen with denuclearization, the agreement basically entails some key components.
The very first one is the agreement wherein it focuses on the establishment of committing the relationship of two nations in order to provide peace for the people of both countries. The second one is more of a vow from the United States that they will join efforts with the DPRK or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea when it comes to stabilizing peace on the Korean Peninsula, the return is the third component wherein the DPRK will now begin to complete the denuclearization in their country.
There is no limit to what NoKo can achieve when it gives up its nuclear weapons and embraces commerce & engagement w/ the world. Chairman Kim has before him the opportunity to be remembered as the leader who ushered in a glorious new era of security & prosperity for his citizens! pic.twitter.com/Xbup4Zyz33

With this, Trump said that the two nations are now ready to start and open the new chapter of the story and that the past must never become the definition of the future. However, it wasn’t exactly sighted in the agreement that Kim would actually get rid of their nuclear weapons such as arms and missiles, it was also not indicated as to when they will start the denuclearization process.
Trump did say, however, that the US aids would start when he invites Kim to the White House or him being invited to Pyeongyang. The US president said that he does understand, however, that the denuclearization cannot begin immediately since it is a process that needs to be done very carefully.
